Controlling your mind with hypnosis – The Mind Palace

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the creator of Sherlock Holmes believed that all our actions were controlled by miniature people in our brains.
He thought that these little people pulled levers, flicked switches or turned dials to control what we did.

This is clearly ridiculous, or is it? Obviously, we do not have miniature people in our brains, but what we do have instead is a metaphoric control room, or to use a modern Sherlock Holmes reference, a Mind Palace.
And the good news is, we can control it – and we can get it to do exactly what we want it to do.
The switches, dials and levers will be different for everyone and hypnotherapy allows us to access them to adjust how you think and feel about things.
If something annoys you, you can enter your control room and turn that annoyance down. If you want to give something up, cure a phobia or reduce an anxiety around a situation, you can tap into your control room, make an adjustment and control your future response.

Many of my clients have come to me saying they drink too much and want to stop. They had good reasons for wanting to stop but just couldn’t do it by themselves.

After inducing a light trance and taking their mind to a place of comfort and safety, I explained to each of them their subconscious minds, the reasons they wanted to stop drinking and reinforced the benefits of doing so.
It was after this that they were guided to their own unique control room and asked to adjust the controls that reduce their need for alcohol.

Three recent clients each stopped drinking – even the client who was used to eight pints of Stella a night.

How to access the control room and make changes
Where is this control room and how do I enter it? This is where hypnosis comes in.

Hypnosis can help you find this control room and make the adjustments you want to make.

The control room is located when you are in a relaxed ‘trance’ and taken there by guided visualisation. A trance is just like a daydream – just a relaxed state, with the worries of the world put aside for a little while.

Once you know where this room is by using self-hypnosis at home you can enter it any time you like, to make any changes you want to.

So, are you ready to find your Mind Palace and take back your control?
